How are Lash Extensions Applied?

 

Eyelash extensions are adhered individually to your natural lashes to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes.  Lash design can be customized to your desired effect in either Natural or Glam looks.

A formaldehyde free bonding agent is used to apply each lash.  Bowie Brows uses only quality lashes made of luxury materials, creating a comfortable, soft and light feel.  As your natural lash hairs shed, the lash extension will fall off by itself

 

How Long Does the Lash Extension Procedure take?

​

The Lash Extension application differs depending on which set you choose, as fuller looks require more lashes to be added. Application time frames range from approximately 1-2 hours.

 

Lash Extension Appointment Prep & Guidelines 

 

For the most comfortable & efficient lash experience, please be sure to follow these guide lines:

​

• Do not wear mascara, eye make-up or curl your lashes on the day of your service. Do not apply creams, sunblock or oils to your eye area.

• Your eyes will be closed for the duration of the service, if you wear contacts you may want to bring drops in case of dryness.

• Please place your cell phone on silent or stow it away in your pocket or purse, as it can be distracting to you and your technician. 

• Although we love all kiddies, your eyes will be closed & children may not be left unsupervised.  All children should be left at home so that you may relax & enjoy your session.

Lash Extension Aftercare

​

Caring for your lashes should be an easy process and always part of your daily routine.  The following after care advice is CRUCIAL to maintaining the life & health of your lashes!

 

• DO NOT get your eyelashes wet for at least 12-24 hours following your lash appointment.  (this includes heavy sweating, steam room, sauna, pool, ocean, etc.).  Never run water directly over your lashes.

• DO NOT perm or tint your lashes.

• DO NOT use an eyelash curler of any kind.

• DO NOT use mascara on your lash extensions.

• DO NOT pull your lashes as it may cause your natural lashes to come out and/or extensions to fall off prematurely.

• DO NOT rub your eyes, especially within the first 24 hours.

• DO NOT attempt to remove the lash extensions yourself.  Any removal should be done by a trained technician.

• We suggest using an OIL-FREE cleanser so that the lash adhesive lasts longer.

• Use care when  applying & removing any eyeliner; use a lint free tapered Q-tip to remove make-up on or around your lash line

How Long Will my Lash Extensions Last?

Lash extensions can last up to 4 weeks if proper after care is followed, however we recommend coming in for a touch-up (lash fill) between 2 and 3 weeks to keep your lashes looking fresh & full.  

 

Any follow-up appointments that are booked after the 2 or 3 week time frame will be considered a new full set, NOT a touch-up.
